Hello, I'm Dongni.
(Dongni, pronounced "DUHNG-NEE")
Hello! I’m an experience designer and researcher passionate about solving complex problems with thoughtful design solutions. I enjoy all aspects of the design process, and I work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to understand user needs, business goals, and technology capabilities to create meaningful end-to-end experience.
Trained in communication studies and human factors in information design, I am very good at conducting research, synthesizing research findings, and turn them into actionable insights. I am equally strong in articulating design intentions through employing best design practices and creating various design artifacts.
I take initiative, bring curiosity, empathy, a good eye for visuals, and a sense of humor to every project I am involved in.
Here are some ways to get to know more about me and my experience.
MY UX JOURNEY
I first found UX when I was a disaster relief volunteer back in 2008, then I came across UX again in 2013 working on an intranet project.
In summer 2008, I joined a group of volunteers to help with disaster relief. We collected and updated latest rescue information and marked them with different icons on a Google map.
MORE ABOUT ME
I moved to the U.S. in 2007 from Guangzhou, a beautiful coastal city in southern China. I now reside in just a little bit west of Boston. I graduated in May 2016 with a Master's in Human Factors in Information Design - one of the Top Academic UX Programs - from Bentley University. Prior to moving to Boston, I earned a Master's Degree in Communication, Technology and Society from Clemson University.
